Social media critic and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has ignited widespread controversy online after launching a fierce public critique targeting the sons of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, musicians Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red, and Sina Adeleke, known professionally as Sina Rambo.
The activist questioned the financial source behind the brothers’ recent acquisition of high-end luxury vehicles, including a Lamborghini and a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, reportedly valued collectively at hundreds of millions of naira.
In a viral video broadcast across his social media channels, VeryDarkMan raised concerns about the timing and origin of the funds, highlighting the brothers’ connection to the sitting Osun State government.
Pointing to their music careers, VDM questioned whether their earnings from the entertainment industry could justify such lavish spending. He further argued that public scrutiny is inevitable when family members of political officeholders display significant wealth, particularly when their father leads a state facing socioeconomic challenges.
The controversy has renewed conversations about political family wealth and public accountability, particularly the distinction between privately acquired wealth and public resources. These questions also feature in broader discussions about political family wealth and public accountability, including the importance of financial transparency and public trust.
The video has triggered heated reactions across social platforms, dividing public opinion.
Supporters of the critic argue that family members of political officeholders must operate with heightened transparency to maintain public trust. They emphasize that, while the Adeleke family has established private business interests and longstanding wealth, public office naturally attracts scrutiny over perceived displays of opulence.
Conversely, defenders of B-Red and Sina Rambo point to the long-standing wealth of the Adeleke dynasty, arguing that the family’s business interests predate Governor Adeleke’s political tenure. Critics of VDM have also noted that no evidence has been presented in the allegations described linking the vehicle purchases to Osun State public funds.
Wrapping up his critique, VeryDarkMan urged the Osun State executive leadership to prioritize civil infrastructure, job creation and state development over public displays of affluence by associates and family members.
Neither Governor Ademola Adeleke nor representatives for B-Red and Sina Rambo have issued an official response regarding the activist’s comments, according to the information available for this article.
