Laide Bakare Rejects Eniola Badmus’ Apology, Calls It ‘Fake’

The public disagreement between Nollywood actresses Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare has taken another turn after Bakare rejected Badmus’ apology, describing it as “fake.”

Badmus had issued a public apology on Tuesday, October 20, following criticism of her reaction when Bakare’s name was mentioned during her appearance on content creator Isbae U’s podcast, Curiosity Made Me Ask.

In her statement, Badmus acknowledged that her reaction may have appeared dismissive and said she wanted to move beyond their differences.

“Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well,” she wrote, appealing for an end to negativity and grudges.

However, Bakare was reportedly unconvinced by the apology. In a response shared on Instagram, she described it as a “fake apology,” indicating that the disagreement between the actresses remains unresolved.

The latest exchange followed a viral clip from the podcast in which Badmus appeared to react negatively when Bakare was named among the host’s favourite actresses.

The incident reignited public attention on their strained relationship, which has included previous disagreements and a reported confrontation at a film premiere in Lagos in April 2025.

As the exchange continues to generate online discussion, it remains unclear whether the actresses will reach a resolution.
